Build and optimize 3D game simulations and environments using Panda3D to help train next-generation AI systems. You will design simulation logic, implement high-quality Python and C++ code, and ensure performance across diverse hardware. This is a remote contract role with micro1, an AI data lab that transforms real-world expert knowledge into training data and evaluations to improve how AI systems learn and reason. Prior AI experience is not required, domain expertise and Panda3D mastery are.

• Design, develop, and optimize 3D game simulations and environments in Panda3D for AI training and evaluation.
• Translate requirements from multidisciplinary teams into technical implementations and simulation scenarios.
• Implement, maintain, and debug Python and C++ code that integrates with Panda3D.
• Use GitHub for version control, branching, and pull request workflows to support collaborative development.
• Ensure cross-platform compatibility and performance across a range of hardware configurations.
• Document architectural decisions, code, and processes clearly for team use.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team meetings, communicating verbally and in writing with clarity.

Required

• Proven, hands-on experience developing with Panda3D, experience with other engines will not substitute.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and C++.
• Strong command of GitHub for code management and collaboration.
• Deep understanding of 3D graphics pipelines, simulation logic, and cross-platform development concerns.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with clear documentation practices.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.

Preferred

• Prior game development experience focused on AI, simulation, or training applications.
• Familiarity with optimizing 3D assets and scenes for performance across varied hardware.
• Experience working in distributed Agile teams.

Pay range between $50 and $120 per hour.

• No prior AI experience required, applicant domain knowledge and Panda3D expertise are the primary criteria.
